CONSUMERS ARE ENTITLED TO KNOW ...

Consumers are entitled to know ...

From: Mr. Sylvain Laporte
        32 boulevard Antonio Barrette
        Notre-Dame-des-Prairies Quebec, Canada J6E 1E3

For this, I would like to describe a situation there is exactly eleven years.
I was a producer of egg incubation, January 7, 1997, bought chicks from the USA, chickens, without my knowledge, were carriers of the avian leukosis, ie leukemia chicken. My job was to fatten them and produce eggs, but it turned out that they were actually carrying the same disease and always without my knowledge. These eggs have been sent to the incubators Coopérative fédérée, once my hatched chicks were fattened by other poultry and then find itself in the food chain through the division Olymel Flamingo and ultimately in your plates.

. Mr. Etienne Tessier, a veterinarian of the Cooperative Profid'or, dared me hide the truth so as not to "m'énerver" in May 1997.
. Ms. Francine Dufour, a veterinarian of the Cooperative federated, I learned that my chickens had been carrying leukemia nine months later, ie on 18/09/97.
. I have met in the presence of Ms. Huguette Bellerose, Gilles Baril, Deputy Minister of Health in automne 1997, while Mr. Lucien Bouchard was Prime Minister of Quebec and Mrs. Pauline Marois, Minister of Health.(1998) Mr. Baril has since then left Canada and Mr. Bouchard has done nothing in my case the latter is now negotiator for the Coopérative fédérée.

. I also contacted Mrs Christine Bakke, 28/04/06, who works for the inspection of food. The latter told me that the avian leukosis was an endemic disease, fearing a pandemic.

Below is a list of all persons who were informed of this situation and the dates on which I have sent a letter by registered mail:

. Mr. André Boisclair, environment minister at that time via Mr. Pierre Laporte Environment Quebec, in November 1997   (doing nothing)

. Mr. Louis Dufour, Ministry of Agriculture of Quebec in March 1998   (resigneret)
. The Coopérative fédérée Quebec, formal notice sent on 20/04/98. The 02/06/99, I had to take the decision to stop any legal proceedings against the latter given my financial situation and total lack of support from the Union of breeding hens and the Union of Farmers Quebec on the pretext that they would prejudice the other producers of chickens.
. The Company Hubbard Farms USA, formal notice sent on 24/09/98 and that I have received no response thereafter. A representative of this company also confirmed to me, 12/02/98, as the transmission of the virus leukemia chicken is both horizontal and vertical (with eggs), and therefore more difficult to avoid spread from one country to another.
. Mr. Mario Dumont, leader of the Democratic Action of Quebec, 01/02/05 (resigneret)
. Ms. Denise Poirier-Rivard, a member of the Bloc Quebecois, 10/03/05. The latter has even allowed me to meet instead of the federal government while she sat in the House of Commons by the Opposition. (resigneret)

. The company Mérial via M. Burke Marshall Borton, 22/08/05
. The Honourable Prime Minister of Canada Mr. Paul Martin, successor to Mr. Jean Chrétien, 18/10/05   (resigneret)
. Mr. Guy André, current member of the Bloc Quebecois, which currently has its hands between my voluminous file. which is to remain on the shelves.

. Mr. Laurent Pellerin, a member of the Union of Agricultural Producers, the latter have been no concrete gesture in my case since all this time. (resigneret)  (doing nothing)
. The Royal Canada via the agent Michel Laporte   (resigneret)
. The Royal Canada in Ottawa, letter delivered by hand to an employee of Parliament
. Mr. Jean Charest, Premier of Quebec, 02/03/06  (doing nothing)
. Mr. Yvon Vallière, Minister of Agriculture provincial at the time, 02/03/06

that my writing a letter misleading to protect large companies (cooperatives federated Quebec City, hatcheries, slaughterhouses etc, etc, etc,

. Mr. Michel Fafard, president of the Union of the Union of Agricultural Producers, was informed of this situation since 1997 and kept abreast of most of my efforts until 2006, because my immediate neighbour.
. Lise Thibault, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, 11/09/06   (doing nothing  ,resigneret)

. Ms. Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, 11/09/06  (doing nothing)
. Mr. Christian Benny, president of rôtisseries Benny, 20/09/06

- THE HONOURABLE Gerry Ritz Federal Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, 15/08/08. The Honorable Prime Minister Stephen Harper of the canada 15/08/08 .. (doing  nothing)
It is noteworthy that after this situation I have suffered very heavy financial losses and that all communications, whether oral, written or recorded, were noted in my case, which to date had about 1800 pages and in order to ensure adequate monitoring of all my efforts. This package includes among other scientific reports saying that science is not quite as advanced research are currently on stem cells at the level of Canadian and European Unions.
I suffered enormous pressure from certain associations whose Coopérative fédérée of Quebec through some executives, among other Christian Bellerose, and Hatcheries of the Fédérée via M. Gilbert Hamelin, foreman, not that I publicly reveal the situation because I risquais create huge financial losses at the chicken industry.
Mr. Andre Langlois, executive director of the Cooperative Profid'or, was even allowed to tell me that I was to break down the chicken industry in Canada.
Several media are aware of this situation because I have contacted many journalists, among others Mr. Paul Larocque TVA Network, whom I met in person, Mr. Alexis Deschênes to whom I handed over the photo my truck (see top of this letter), Mr. Benedict Bazinet, managing director and editor to newspapers Action and L'Expression that I contacted by phone, a representative of the Journal de Montreal and another in La Presse whom I myself handed over a letter describing the problems experienced, a researcher on the issue The devil's advocate Network TQS and Mr. Richard Latendresse Washington correspondent for the TVA Network to whom I sent a e-mail, which did not remain unanswered.

The animal disease is not in the list of reportable diseases even if the Federal Law on Food says he should have been condemning entire flocks of chickens and chickens to ensure that prevent it from being channelled in food.
Despite all these efforts made for eleven years, nobody has been able to take care of this situation both in Quebec and Canada.
We are talking about avian flu, the mad cow disease and diseases of potatoes but did you know that the USA sent to Canada chickens carrying the virus of the avian leukosis (myeloblastic leukemia group J ), Chickens that we consommions on our plates?
The law of silence has existed for a very long time with several other producers but for my part I have decided to break this silence by acquired conscience. If one day someone discovers that there is a possibility of transmission, so small as it is, this disease chicken to humans I will have absolutely nothing to reproach myself. I myself can then read the letters that I sent to all persons named above and those I have received letters that I keep carefully and listen to all the conversations that I recorded and tell me that personally I have done my utmost.
the best is yet to come for 2009 to follow

Ladies and gentlemen, I would be happy to make me swear on all these statements that have been put on paper.
